I don't know what to do. If this were home, I'd try to shock her out of it, show her how much worse it could've been. Or beat some sense into her. But she doesn't act like people from home, neither of you do.

Then again, she'd probably start beating herself up for not running into Rose Tattoo first.

I'd be cruel and suggest some kind of fake break-up manipulation, but I'm honestly pretty certain that she'd just get the wrong kind of message out of that. I've only met one other person who's as stubborn as she can be.

No. I hate that she does this to herself but I could never do that to her. It would be too mean.

Honestly I wish I knew what to do, but I'm at a loss. Back home she nearly had to die for me to get through to her.

I wouldn't seriously suggest it.

Is she like this whenever she loses a fight? Or just the fights where other people get hurt when she loses?

She's like this because she thinks that she has to be the one who helps everyone and that if she doesn't or can't she's failed.

I know someone like that. We're having to keep him out of the War because he'd think it's his fault if anyone on our side died.

That sounds a lot like her. She always has to be the one to sacrifice, to carry hte heaviest burden, to throw herself into danger.

She doesn't understand that she's important. Or... she does, but she doesn't think she is. She thinks she needs to give all of herself up for others and I hate it. It hurts, watching her do that. She won't listen.

Well, I'm not exactly being honest. We're also keeping him out because the bad guys want him. But that's not that important here.

I asked her what would make her happy once, before that turned into the fight. She said whatever made you and me happy.

I wish I knew what to say. But all I can think is that she'd genuinely give up everything, including her life, if it made other people happy. Well, everything except for you.

That's what I'm talking about. She never does what makes HER happy. She's so concerned with everyone else.

I hate it and I don't know how to make her see that she matters.

I'll let you know if I can think of anything that doesn't make me cringe at the cruelty.

She's my friend. I want her to get over this.
