I miss my phone. I have a perfect table-flipping gif for my feelings about this saved to it.
I'm limited to shapeshifting and healing right now, so unless you want me to grapple him/it/them while you work, I don't know how much help I'll be. Can he recover control if it takes over, or are we looking at a "we might have to kill him" situation?
i'm not sure. i don't think he's sure? i dont think whoever gave it to him gave him an instruction manual.
he thinks it only works if he's wearing it, so if push comes to shove, knock him down and strip him?
i was also kinda hoping like, maybe you knew something i don't about spirits, something I could try. it looked like a big fucked up mean monster dog so i played who's alpha with it and it retreated without submitting
don't really want to do that again bc it scared guts.
Of course it doesn't. That would make our lives easier, and that's not allowed.
I've never attempted to strip a struggling person out of armor like his before, who else are you considering recruiting into this?
I don't know a lot about spirits, tbh. Mostly 1) they exist, 2) bad ones need to be destroyed, and 3) etiquette 101. Most of my interactions with them are transactions, and I don't even do those without assistance from someone with more training than me.
Can you tell me more about the spirit? What it wanted? Did it want destruction for destruction's sake, or did it have another goal it was trying to reach? Did it try to hurt/possess you? How did it scare Guts?
it manifested for me as a big monster dog, like i said. mostly just wants to fight and kill from rage and hate. i think it's trapped in the armor, like it can't act on its own, only if Guts lets it out? but Guts can let it out without meaning to by getting pissed off enough in a fight. so i think mostly what it wants is for guts to be in such a rage that it can get out and stay out, make him the one who has to fight for bits of freedom.
didnt hurt me, not sure it can without using Guts' body, but it really wanted to. didnt feel it trying to get in but that doesn't mean it didn't try, im not an expert
it scared guts because the parting fuck-you was a vision of it hurting me in messed up ways using Guts' body. typical edgelord shit but it spooked him.
Yeah, sounds like the sort of thing that I'm supposed to break and then destroy the spirit within, because it's Bad. I assume that's not what you're going for here.
I take it he's reluctant, even though it gave him a scare over what it wanted to do to you.
Do you think it may already have its hooks in his mind, to make him protective of it? Or do you think he's just (understandably) reluctant to give up the power it gives him.
That's positive. While I should be arguing for its outright destruction, I'm willing to build up to that. We might get more traction starting with "don't wear it here".
Okay so, plan is: we get more info from Guts on what he knows about what's up with his armor, and we try to convince him to at least not wear it on missions here. TBD from there. Do you want to team up and ambush him at lunch some time, or do you want to ambush him yourself while I eavesdrop?
Thanks for reaching out to me on this, btw. Even if I'm not as helpful as you'd hoped, I appreciate your trust. I'll make every effort to not make you regret it.
it was a practical decision. you know about this kind of business and from what youve said you're dedicated to resisting it wherever it pops up. respect.

Did you get more of a "hard no" or a "I don't want to" when you brought up just separating from the armor entirely?
